My Earlier Memories

THE ABORIGINALS :
You see, in the past few decades, people never fret about what to wear today, tomorrow or the next day! Back then, fashion issues such as colors mismatching and contemporary trends are completely out of the questions. Why? Easy, that's because everyone wears the same thing everyday and top designers like Ralph Lauren and Christian Dior were still in their mother's womb.

As we all know, aboriginals or the 'original people' are those who lived here since the very beginning. And when we talk about thee aboriginals, I bet the first thing that comes across your mind is banana leaves! Granted, banana leaves is a part of thee aboriginals' clothing. But certainly not for the women! Well, that's because God has made it so much easier for men. They merely need the banana leaves to shield their ' weapon',and nothing else while us, women have to suffer from the many extra layers (sob)

                                                        The men, in banana leaves><

As for the women, they would wear 'kain sarung' as their daily wear. However, they will wear beautiful bark clothing named 'teghap', enhanced with headbands woven from 'nipah' palm leaves during festivals or special events. They claimed that the beautiful bark clothing are worn as a form of identity, besides the banana leaves. LOL

The bark clothing-for women

the terap tree, to make bark cloth

As pretty as it looks like, but the bark clothing is not suitable for daily wear because it's worn to protect the women from cold and you may think it's comfortable to wear, but the fact is, IT'S NOT! LOL

THE ANCIENT TIMES:
Ah, just like  those classic stories such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and also Beauty and the Beast, the princesses wear very pretty long dresses. This is actually akin to the princesses in the real world! During those early years, it is a culture for the princesses to wear those long dresses as a display of elegance and virginity.

even now, my mum still manage to do such princess style dress for my sister ~

Since i watched so many drama from young until now, i'm likely to have the Chinese old-imperial cloths.. There are more complicated in dressing and hair styling but i think it can  make us become more lady like=)

These are the first memories in fashion that appear in my mind... Since i had study history, i knew that the human being in the past were all dress in the cloth who make from animal skin ~

For western country, their early fashion is in a rather formal style.. They wear many layers and they like to wear hats...

For eastern country, they also wear many layers but they enjoy making some difference on their hair =)

Everyone thought cheongsam is our tradisional cloths, but cheongsam is actually the reformation from the cloths of the previous dynasty of China before republic.
